How to compost leftover food

A household throws away an estimated 474 pounds of food waste each year. That could have been 1.5 lbs per person a day in the U.S. It’s a shame to hear this because some people deal with malnutrition while people are wasting food. If you waste food you are wasting money as well since you’re not consuming the food you bought.  To make food into compost you can use a 4-5 gallon bucket from a hardware store. To prevent fruit flies cover the top with newspaper. You can use your food waste in soil, the soil is good for planting new plants and it gives nutrients.  Compost has a lot of benefits! 😀  You can have a lidded kitchen compost pail near by your sink or under it.
